Line Dancing Lesson 1

In this lesson we had Mr.Chapman and he taught us some line dancing moves we also chose a song to dance on and the song we chose was beat it by Micheal Jackson it suited our dance because it had loads of beats in the song. As we found some of the steps quite hard because it was our first time doing line dance so we had to keep repeating each step to get the hand of it. The difficult bit of the dance was when we had to do the tapping your heels because i got confused with what foot to put first and how many times we had to do it. Sir taught us two moves, one was tapping our heels and jumping the other was moving our hips side to side. Ill probably say that the hip move was the easiest to do.

Media room 2

in last lesson on tuesday which was on week 2 we practiced dance moves and we thought we was going to perform our dance in an assembly. we practiced this for the whole lesson we tried different arrangements and routines like trying out the boys at the back and the girls at the front the we swap we also tried putting the tall people at the back and the smaller people at the front. our teacher was very pleased with our ideas because while we was practicing we was coming up with loads of ideas and trying it out and if it was good she said we will perform it to others in the assembly.

Overall i thought this lesson was fun this is because we all gave our ideas in and listened to each other we also worked as a team and tried the dance moves together that everyone in the lesson thought of.

Day 4 of Bollywood dancing

This day of bollywood dancing has been the best lesson so far. we learnt the same dance steps but made it better than it was before. we also made new steps for the dance with the people in my group which had malique, mhinazul in it. we also did the choreography on our own without miss hainstocks help which is our dance teacher.

The steps we learnt in this lesson was very good because Miss.Hainstock used it for the dance, our routine was very simple and also looked good with the old dance steps. But although we struggled to show miss our dance moves she helped us practice it and made it better which looked much better than it was before. we also had problems with the time keeping as we had 3 more people that joined our group which was jaydeep, aditi and aaron, but as we were practising our moves we managed to keep it up on time.

What happened on that day was that miss.hainstock told us that she wants new dance moves to dance to the jai ho dance, so we got put into 2 groups, the first group had me, mhinazul, jaydeep, aditi, aaron and maliue, the second group had sanita, rajan, rashna and sara. both of our groups had to learn 3 different dance moves. we done our dancing in room 24. we only had 30mins left till the end off the lesson so we all performed and showed miss our moves and miss liked it so we put our dance moves together and it went together so by the time we put it together we it was nearly end of the lesson.

I have learnt a lot in this lesson, I have now realised that our media class can co-operate really well with each other without many arguments to create a dance routine. Everyone in the class listened to each other, no one was shouting, we all co-operated and got the job done. Brilliant third day of dancing.

This picture shows two bollywood actresses dancing. they both have similar clothes and a lot of jewellery.

Introduction post

This is our performing arts unit and this unit is about bollywood dance and it also has section to drama. to start this unit we got given this scrapbook so we could go and find out information to do with bollywood, the information we had to find was to do with its social and historic contexts of the development of dance and dance styles. we also have to look into how it originated and how it has changed over the years due to the social factor.  we are working on our scrapbook with mr chapman and our dancing with miss Hainstock.
